About the Opportunity: We’re working exclusively with a well-established Canadian geological consulting firm to identify a highly experienced
Vice President-level Geologist to join their leadership team.
This is a
senior consulting role designed for a
P.Geo with 20+ years of experience in geology, strong project management expertise, and a background in business development. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading technical project delivery, supporting strategic growth, and mentoring staff.
This is a
flexible, consultant-based role (not salaried employment) offering independence, remote work, and the opportunity to earn
equity/shares in the firm over time.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage complex geological consulting projects from initiation to delivery
- Provide technical oversight on NI 43-101 compliant reports, resource estimates, and due diligence work
- Support proposal writing, project budgeting, and client relationship management
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level geoscientists within the team
- Collaborate with other senior consultants to support company-wide growth and strategic direction
- Represent the firm at client meetings, conferences, and industry events as needed
Required Qualifications: - Minimum 20 years of professional experience in geology (exploration, mining, or consulting)
- Registered P.Geo in a Canadian province or territory
- Strong background in mineral resource estimation, technical reporting, and NI 43-101 compliance
- Proven project management experience across various commodities (gold, base metals, diamonds, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in business development, proposal preparation, and client engagement
- Experience leading or coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have: - Familiarity with CSA and provincial CSR standards
- Knowledge of mine planning, preliminary economic assessments (PEA), or feasibility studies
- Prior experience working as an independent or external consultant
- Exposure to managing or contributing to equity-based business structures
