Senior Structural Engineer – Heavy Industrial Projects

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer on behalf of a leading engineering consultancy in Vancouver, BC. This firm specializes in delivering high-quality structural engineering solutions for heavy industrial projects, offering a collaborative and growth-focused environment.
Role Overview:
The Senior Structural Engineer will lead the design and development of structural systems for heavy industrial facilities, including mining, oil & gas, power generation, and manufacturing plants. This role involves technical leadership, project management, client interaction, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead structural design for heavy industrial projects, including steel, concrete, and foundation structures.
• Perform structural analysis, load calculations, and seismic design to ensure safety and compliance.
• Ensure designs meet local building codes, CSA, AISC, ASCE, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
• Conduct site inspections, construction reviews, and provide technical support during project execution.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and EITs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• P.Eng. designation in BC (or eligibility for registration).
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering design, with a focus on heavy industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of CSA, AISC, ASCE, and seismic design standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, and structural design software.
• Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
