Senior Mechanical Engineer – Heavy Industrial Projects

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer on behalf of a leading engineering consultancy in Vancouver, BC. This firm specializes in delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions for heavy industrial projects, offering a collaborative and growth-focused environment.
Role Overview:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design and development of mechanical systems for heavy industrial projects, including mining, oil & gas, power generation, and manufacturing facilities. This role involves technical leadership, project management, client interaction, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical design for heavy industrial projects, including piping, rotating equipment, HVAC, and material handling systems.
• Perform stress analysis, thermal calculations, and system optimization for efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure designs meet local building codes, ASME, API, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with electrical, structural, and process engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
• Conduct site inspections, commissioning, and provide technical support during construction.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and EITs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• P.Eng. designation in BC (or eligibility for registration).
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering design, with a focus on heavy industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, API, CSA, and other industry standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and mechanical design software.
• Experience with pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
