Senior Environmental Engineer on behalf of a leading environmental consulting firm in Vancouver, BC. This firm specializes in delivering innovative environmental engineering solutions, offering a dynamic and growth-focused environment.
Role Overview: The Senior Environmental Engineer will lead solid waste management projects, including landfill design, landfill operations, waste diversion strategies, and regulatory compliance. This role involves technical leadership, project management, client engagement, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead engineering design and assessment of solid waste management systems.
- Develop landfill design, operations plans, leachate management, and waste diversion strategies.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and risk evaluations for solid waste and landfill projects.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale engineering projects.
- Oversee field investigations, perform construction oversight, and provide technical recommendations.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
- P.Eng. designation in BC (or eligibility for registration).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental engineering, with a focus on solid waste management and landfill engineering.
- Strong knowledge of landfill engineering, landfill gas management, waste treatment technologies, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in environmental software such as GIS, AutoCAD, and waste modelling tools.
- Experience with regulatory permitting and compliance related to solid waste and landfill management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
