About Us: Our client is one of the leading third-party managers of residential rental properties, and one of the largest commercial property managers in BC.
Role Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Property Accountant to join a property management company in the Metro Vancouver area. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about accounting, enjoys working in a collaborative team environment, and is eager to develop both professionally and personally.
Key Responsibilities: - Review and process lease documents (new leases, renewals, terminations).
- Prepare monthly financial statements and working papers for various properties.
- Work with the property management team to create annual budgets and ensure accurate accounting data.
- Process tenant rental schedules and manage bank reconciliations.
- Analyze cash flow and prepare monthly owner distributions.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and resolve discrepancies with the PM team.
- Set up new properties, ensuring accurate client and tenant information.
- Enter charge-back invoices (e.g., lease commissions, project management fees).
- Assist with year-end audit preparations.
- Review rent rolls for accuracy and up-to-date tenant info.
Key Attributes: - Property accounting experience and knowledge of Yardi Voyager is a plus.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Detail-oriented and highly accurate.
- Clear communication skills (written and verbal).
- Well-organized, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Good problem-solving skills and resourceful.
- Able to work under pressure while maintaining quality.
- Team player, contributing to efficient workflow.
- Reliable transportation to commute to the office (due to limited transit options).
Compensation:CA$60,000/yr - CA$70,000/yr.
