About the Opportunity: We are currently seeking an experienced
Construction Estimator with a strong background in Canadian high-rise residential projects to join our dynamic team in Toronto. This is a fantastic opportunity for an estimator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is looking to work on some of the city’s most exciting developments.
This is a
full-time, in-office position (5 days per week) and ideal for someone who enjoys being part of a hands-on, highly engaged team from project inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities: - Prepare detailed cost estimates for high-rise residential projects (pre-construction through final tender stages).
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
- Participate in design development and provide value-engineering input.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Review and assess contractor and subcontractor bids for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain and update estimating systems, databases, and cost records.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure alignment on project scope and budget.
- Track and analyze project costs and provide recommendations to maintain profitability.
Requirements: - Minimum 5+ years of estimating experience in Canadian high-rise residential construction.
- Thorough understanding of construction processes, materials, and building codes.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an office-based setting.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
