Role Overview:
Our client is seeking an Audit & Assurance Manager to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fostering client relationships, leading teams in client-facing roles through assurance engagements, and overseeing fieldwork to ensure timely completion. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in training and coaching staff to support their professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture client relationships to deliver outstanding service, gather information, resolve issues, and propose business and process improvements.
- Understand the client’s industry and identify key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments.
- Lead client-facing teams and contribute to the planning, scope, and completion of assurance engagements (audits and reviews).
- Manage and review fieldwork for assurance engagements, monitoring progress relative to budgets and deadlines.
- Take ownership of engagement planning, scheduling, and project financials (e.g., budgets, work in progress, billing).
- Train and mentor staff to enhance their technical and professional skills, offering continuous performance feedback.
Qualifications:
- Completed Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Approximately 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in a public accounting firm.
- Proficient knowledge and experience working with Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and/or Canadian Accounting Standards for Not-For-Profit Organizations (ASNPO).
- Solid understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles and standards.
- Collaborative and effective communicator, ensuring client and colleague needs are met.
- Experience with accounting and tax software like CaseWare and TaxPrep.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Location of Employment: The role will be based in Port Moody, British Columbia.
Compensation:
Salary is open to discussion depending on experience.
